MetaScout ("we," "our," or "us") operates metascout.net and the MetaScout web application. We provide gaming intelligence services including champion recommendations, pro settings, tier lists, and personalized meta guidance across 50+ competitive titles.

2. Information We Collect
Information You Provide
- Email address (for account creation and magic-link sign-in)
- Gaming preferences: games played, role preferences, rank/skill level
- Payment information (processed by Stripe — we do not store card details)
Information Collected Automatically
- Browser type, operating system, and device type
- Pages visited and features used within MetaScout
- IP address and approximate geographic location
- Session duration and interaction patterns
3. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your MetaScout account
- To deliver personalized champion, agent, and settings recommendations
- To process payments and manage your subscription
- To send transactional emails (magic links, trial reminders, billing receipts)
- To send product updates and gaming intel (you can unsubscribe any time)
- To improve our recommendation algorithms and game coverage
- To detect fraud and maintain platform security
4. Third-Party Services
We work with the following third parties to operate MetaScout:
- Stripe — Payment processing. Your card details are handled entirely by Stripe and are never stored on our servers. Stripe's privacy policy applies to payment data.
- Riot Games API — Live game data for League of Legends and Valorant (champion stats, patch data). No personal Riot account data is collected without your explicit consent.
- Twitch API — Trending game and stream data to surface what's popular. We do not link your MetaScout account to your Twitch account.
- Resend — Transactional email delivery (magic links, billing notifications).
5. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your subscription is active. If you cancel your subscription, your data is retained for 90 days before deletion, giving you time to reactivate. You may request immediate deletion by emailing us.
6. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your account and associated data
- Opt out of marketing communications (unsubscribe link in every email)
- Data portability — receive a copy of your data in a machine-readable format

7. Cookies
MetaScout uses minimal cookies for authentication (session tokens) and basic analytics. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but this will prevent you from staying logged in.
8. Security
We use industry-standard security measures including TLS encryption for all data in transit, hashed authentication tokens, and row-level security on our database. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure — we encourage you to use a strong, unique email address for your account.
9. Children's Privacy
MetaScout is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, we will delete it promptly.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of MetaScout after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
